Time to talk: Hate crime

It’s time to talk about hate crime.

On Thursday 21 July, Brent’s Civic Centre will play host to an event that focuses on hate crime. There will be a number of high-profile speakers attending including Dr Stevie-Jade Hardy - Centre for Hate Studies, Stephen Brooks MBE - Coordinator of the Disabled Hate Crime Network.

  • What exactly is a hate crime?

  • How big is the problem in Brent?

  • What's the role of social media in the context of hate crime?

There will also be stalls for attendees to visit during the breaks including CST, Mermaids and Stonewall.

This event is part of the Council’s wider ‘It’s Time to Talk’ campaign which aims to empower residents and community leaders to talk about difficult issues and work together with the authorities to tackle them. If you would like to have your say on the issues, come along to this FREE event and help us create a stronger, safer Brent.

Tickets for Thursday 21 July from 9:30am to 4:30pm can be booked online here
